Lucknow: Heat wave conditions continue unabated in different parts of Uttar Pradesh with the temperature rising up to six degrees above normal at some places in the state.
MeT officials said that Allahabad, recording 45.3 degrees Celsius, was the hottest place in the state, followed by Ballia which recorded 45 degrees Celsius, six degrees above normal.
Banda, Orai, Amethi, Barabanki and Varanasi recorded temperatures above 44 degrees Celsius, officials said, adding that the state capital Lucknow recorded 43.8 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal.
The temperatures remained appreciably above normal in various other divisions, including Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Faizabad, Allahabad, Kanpur, Luckow, Moradabad and Meerut.
The MeT office said that the heat wave was likely to continue and the weather would remain dry all over the state.
