Lucknow: Heat wave conditions prevailed in parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh with temperatures remaining markedly normal in the region.
MET office sources in Lucknow said that weather was mainly dry over the state and the heat wave would continue for the next couple of days.
Day temperatures were markedly above normal in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Faizabad and Allahabad divisions, appreciably above normal in Kanpur, Lucknow, Bareilly, Moradabad and Meerut divisions and above normal in Jhansi and Agra divisions.
Highest maximum temperature in the state was 45.5 degree Celsius recorded at Allahabad, sources said.
Weather would be mainly dry over the state and heat wave conditions would continue to prevail at isolated places over east Uttar Pradesh during next 48 hours, sources added.
