Lucknow: In the wake of intense cold conditions in the state capital, the district administration on Friday ordered closure of all the schools up to class 8 till January 21.
"Looking at the deteriorating weather conditions in Lucknow and assessing MeT department's weather forecast for the next few days, classes from Nursery to 8th in all schools will be closed till January 21," District Magistrate Rajshekhar told PTI.
He said for classes 9-12, schools will remain open but the timings will be from 11 am to 2 pm, until the next decision.
The district inspector of schools (DIOS) has been instructed to convey the same to all the major schools on telephone, Mr Rajshekhar added.
