Lucknow: A man, who was apparently depressed over grabbing of his land tried to immolate himself alongwith his four children in front of the Assembly building here, while the session was on, police said.
Haroon (40), a resident of Malihabad on the outskirts of the state capital tried to immolate himself and his four children, aged between five to 17 years, by sprinkling kerosene oil.
He did not suffer any injuries, they said.
Before he could light the match, some photo journalists and policemen prevented him from doing so.
Haroon claimed that his land had been grabbed by some persons in Malihabad and the police was not registering his complaint.
