Police complaint against four for duping contractor

Lucknow: An First Information Report has been lodged against four persons for allegedly duping a contractor, who was allotted work in former Chief Minister Mayawati's dream park project in Lucknow, police said today.

The complaint was filed by proprietor of Samay Enterprises, Padmnabham Manglam Kumar Singh, against an assistant engineer, a project manager and two junior engineers of the Uttar Pradesh Project Corporation Limited, they said.

As per the FIR, Singh alleged that he was awarded a contract for earth filling work, worth Rs 69 lakh but only Rs 43 lakh was paid to him. The rest of the amount, he states, was taken by the project manager, K S Pandey.

He also alleged that assistant engineer A K Maheshwari and junior engineers Ashok Kumar Singh and Anil Kumar Verma told him that they could not make the payment without the directions of Pandey.

Police have started investigation into the matter and launched a manhunt to nab the accused.
