A backward community officer of the revenue department committed suicide in Alambagh area
allegedly due to harassment by two senior officials, who were later suspended, police said.
Baburam Maurya, who was posted in Mohanlalganj tehsil as a land official, jumped in front of a moving train near Mawaiya railway crossing in Alambagh on Wednesday, they said, adding that Maurya's kin alleged that harassment by his senior officers forced him to commit suicide.
"Sub divisional magistrate Sunil Chaudhary and tehsildar J P Chauhan have been suspended against whom Maurya's kin have levelled charges of harassment and an inquiry has been ordered
into the matter," additional district magistrate R K Singh said.
