Lucknow:
Six people were killed and four were severely injured when a truck rammed into their sports-utility vehicle in Uttar Pradesh's Pratapgarh district, around 163 kilometers from Lucknow on Tuesday, police said.
The accident occurred near Gadwaripur village when the speeding truck hit the Bolero head on.
Five men and a girl sitting in the Bolero died on the spot while the other four were admitted to a nearby medical facility. They were later referred to an Allahabad hospital after their condition deteriorated.
Pratapgarh Superintendent of Police Kiran S. said that all the victims were from Pragaspur Dohri and Takia villages. They were returning from Rae Bareli where they had gone for the treatment of a family member.
