Lucknow: Two women were killed and nine others of the same family injured in a blast in an illegal cracker unit in Mohanlalganj area on the outskirts of the city, police said.
The incident took place in Kankha village on Wednesday killing Saira Bano (30) and Shabnam (32) on the spot and injuring nine others, they said.
The injured have been rushed to the hospital, where their condition was stated to be stable.
According to police, four brothers used to run the cracker unit where the incident took place.
While one brother had a licence for making crackers, the other three were also involved in manufacturing crackers.
