Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology Professor Munna Singh was terminated.
Lucknow:
The services of suspended Vice chancellor of Kanpur's Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology Professor Munna Singh has been terminated with immediate effect by Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik.
Mr Naik, who also the Chancellor of state universities, gave the order on Wednesday after receiving the reports of two separate inquiry committees headed by former Allahabad High Court judges, Justices V C Gupta and V D Chaturvedi, on the charges of irregularities against Singh, a Raj Bhawan release issued here said.
Mr Singh, who was suspended in May 2015, had twice offered to resign from his post but the Governor had said that his suspension will continue and probe against him will also go on.
The CSA University VC was suspended on charges of irregularities after as many as 75 varsity teachers, MPs and former MLAs had complained against him.
Mr Naik had formed a three-member probe committee which had submitted its preliminary report in April last year holding Mr Singh prima facie guilty of the charges following which he was suspended.
Two separate committees, headed by the high court justices, were later formed to give a final report into the charges against Mr Singh.
