Uttar Pradesh launches helpline for government hospital patients

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Government on Thursday launched a helpline number to facilitate patients in government hospitals to complain against non-availability of doctors and medicines.

Through the toll free helpline number 1800-180-5145, patients can register their complaints regarding non-availability of medicines and doctors prescribing medicines from outside the hospital, Health and Family Welfare Minister Ahmad Hasan said, launching the number at state health directorate here.

"If patients face any problem during treatment in government hospitals or they are forced to purchase medicines from outside, they could register their complaints on the number," the Minister said.
