In a first, the postal department in Lucknow will launch water proof envelopes, costing Rs.7, for the Raksha Bandhan festival.
Specially designed for the Rakhi, coinciding with the monsoon, the envelopes will be launched on Tuesday, officials told IANS.
The 12x22 cm envelopes will be available in a variety of colours and launched in all major post offices in the state capital.
"There was a major problem of Rakhis getting wet during transit from one city to another. So the postal department has come up with these special envelopes," an official said.
Other than having the department's logo, these will have 'Rakhi Patra' mentioned on it.
