Heat wave continues in Punjab

Heat wave today continued in Punjab and Haryana with mercury soaring by up to six notches above normal.

Chandigarh recorded a high of 44 degree Celsius, up by five degrees above normal.

In Punjab, Patiala recorded a high of 45.6 degree Celsius, up by six degrees above normal, while Amritsar and Ludhiana recorded maximum 44.8 degree each.

Narnaul in Haryana was the hottest place in the region with it recording maximum 47 degree Celsius, Met officials said in Chandigarh.

Ambala and Hisar registered maximum 44 degree Celsius and 45.9 degree Celsius respectively, up by 4 notches.

Karnal and Rohtak sizzled at 44 degree Celsius and 45.5 degree Celsius respectively, four degrees above normal.
