Meerut:
A local court here has sentenced a man to death for raping his 7-year-old daughter and later killing her in 2008.
The Additional District and Sessions Judge Shyam Vinod said in his judgement that Ajay Kumar, a labourer from Bihar, be hanged till death for raping and later murdering his
daughter Renu on May 16, 2008.
Terming the act as "cruel", the judge said that the accused was not "entitled to any sympathy and if sympathy is shown to him it may prove detrimental to the society.
The accounts of eight witnesses were produced in the court which further confirmed the role of the accused in the death of the victim.
