The top brass of Meerut police has decided to deduct one day salary of Traffic Sub Inspectors who failed to ensure free flow of vehicles in their respective areas, leading to long traffic holdovers. Senior Superintendent of Police Satyanarayan issued an order in this context on Wednesday, officials said.
On Sunday, the SSP held a meeting with the TSIs and informed them about the move to deduct one day salary if traffic holdovers were found in their respective areas.
Meanwhile, the SSP has asked people of the district to inform him about traffic holdovers so that the action could be initiated against the concerned TSI, the officials said.
