One stabbed to death as car grazes another vehicle in Uttar Pradesh

Meerut: A police inspector's son was stabbed to death and his friend was seriously injured by unidentified persons after their car grazed another vehicle in Meerut.

30-year-old Pranjal Chaudhry, the son of an inspector with Moradabad Local Intelligence Unit, and his friend were on their way to Mussoorie when their car grazed a Scorpio at a petrol pump on Sunday night leading to an argument, police said on Monday.

Some youths known to the Scorpio driver arrived at the scene armed with knives and guns and attacked Pranjal and his friend Bablu, Superintendent of Police (City), Om Prakash Singh said on Monday.

After attacking the two, the armed youths fled from the spot firing in the air.

Some locals rushed the duo to a nearby hospital where Pranjal was declared brought dead.

Police said that a case has been registered and a manhunt launched to nab the attackers.
