Meerut: A 16-year-old boy was stabbed to death and another teenager injured when a gang of robbers attacked them in Narhera village in Meerut, police said on Friday.
The deceased, Sarfaraj and Bhura (15) were passing through a forest area in a bullock cart on Thursday when they were attacked by a gang of robbers, they said.
When the two boys refused to give their belongings, the robbers attacked them with knives. Sarfaraj died on the spot while Bhura, who suffered injuries, was later admitted to a nearby hospital.
Police have arrested one of the accused from Alipur village in the district and search for others is in progress, a police official said.
The bullock cart, which robbers had taken away with them, was also seized from Alipur, he said.
