Mumbai:
The chemical factory blast in the Mumbai suburbs of Dombivali that killed 12 people and injured around 201 has left the families of the injured and missing in a state of confusion.
With the rescue operations continuing since Thursday, the wait for some news of the missing has turned into the worst nightmare for their families.
The body of 29-year-old Sushant Kamble, who was a worker at the Probace factory in Dombivali, was identified by his relatives on Friday night after the rescue operations were over for the day. Sushant, father of a one-year-old, had started working at the factory only two weeks before the incident.
The story of Poonam Chavan, wife of 30-year-old Ashok is perhaps not much different, although her husband was lucky enough to escape from the blast alive.
A worker in a neighbouring perfume factory that also suffered the full impact of the explosion, Ashok now has a severely injured leg, along with injuries to his head and chest.
"He is being operated upon, but he won't be able to do the kind of work he used to do anymore. What will happen to us now? I wash clothes and vessels...," Poonam said, requesting government to give her husband an easy job.
After the two missing were declared dead today, two others, Mayuresh Waikole and Vilas Pol are still missing.
