A 23-year-old youth was booked for allegedly raping a 19-year-old girl under the pretext of marrying her and forcing abortion, police said on Friday.
A case was registered against Rahul Saindane on Thursday night on complaint of the girl that he maintained physical relations with him promising marriage, said sub-inspector Trupti Khalde of Naupada police station.
The complainant alleged that she was raped at various places in city and in Shirdi as well in last four months.
"When she was three months pregnant, he forcibly got the foetus aborted," sub-inspector Khalde said quoting the complaint.
Saindane was booked under sections 376 (punishment for rape) and 312 (causing miscarriage) of IPC. He is not arrested yet, police said.
