Mumbai:
A 23-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by four persons at knife-point at her friend's residence in Mumbai early on Thursday, police said.
The woman was gang-raped and her friend, a taxi driver who is married, assaulted at the his residence in suburban Vile Parle. The four accused - Rajesh Verma, Mahesh Kevat, Krishna Kevat and Ramchandra Humbe - were arrested on a complaint lodged by the man.
According to police, the man, whose wife and children had gone to their native place, brought his girlfriend home at 11.45 last night.
They were spotted by the accused, who were roaming in the area, an officer at Vile Parle police station said.
At about 2 am, the four barged into the house and threatened the victim and the taxi driver with a knife, police said.
Following preliminary probe, the four were arrested and booked for rape, molestation and assault. They were produced before a local court, which remanded them in police custody till March 20.
