Mumbai:
Five people in their early 20s, out on a late night ride in Mumbai, were killed when their speeding car hit a tree in the Vile Parle area on Wednesday.
Muzzamil Makhnuja, 22, the owner of the car, was among those killed in the accident around 5:20 pm. The police have named three others - Muzzamil Mukhtar Kanosiya, 22, Rashida Yusuf Sheikh, 25, and 22-year-old Junaid Sheikh.
"We have seized the mangled car and are investigating the matter," a police officer said.
The roof of the car was almost entirely torn off.
The car, a Honda City, was completely smashed on impact, a sign that it was being driven at a high speed. The roof of the car was almost ripped off.
The accident took place near the airport on the Western Express Highway.
