Thane (Maharashtra):
A 14-year-old girl has been raped and killed allegedly by a 68-year-old man in Thane.
The minor, a domestic help, had gone to work at the accused Vikram Jasra's home on Saturday morning, who allegedly attacked her.
The girl's mother had been working as a domestic help at the Jasra residence for eight months. On Saturday, she was unwell and had sent her daughter, a seventh standard student in a municipal school as her substitute.
Jasra, a father of two grown-up children, allegedly raped and killed the girl and dumped her body in the building's corridor. He was later arrested on Saturday evening.
"He was alone and his wife was out of station. I haven't asked him much. After inquiring I will tell you", said S N Kakkad, Senior Police Inspector, Varthak Police Station.
Shocked by the incident, the victim's family is demanding justice. "My daughter has been raped and she has been strangled with a rope and killed. He should be hanged. We want justice", said the victim's father.
The post mortem and the medical examination reports of both the victim and Jasra have confirmed rape... and strangulation. Jasra has been sent to police custody till June 8. The police will also subject him to a DNA test.
