Mumbai: Mumbai Police on Sunday arrested a 20-year-old man from Girgaum Chowpatty in south Mumbai for allegedly trying to molest a minor girl.
According to the police, Sanjay Bandor, the accused, allegedly tried to molest the eight-year-old victim, who was celebrating Holi with her mother and sister.
While the girl was playing in water with her mother, Bandor grabbed her from back. However, after the girl raised an alarm, her mother shouted for help.
Some policemen, who were present in the vicinity heard their cries and rushed for help and nabbed Bandor, they said.
The victim's mother was initially hesitant to lodge a complaint, but later a case was registered against Bandor, police said.
