Mumbai:
A paralytic senior citizen on Saturday, allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the fifth floor of his apartment located in Dadar in Central Mumbai, police said.
Madhav Vaidya (85) was found dead by the security personnel of the seven-storeyed, White Lily building at about 4 pm, police said.
Subsequently, police were informed about the incident.
Police later recovered a Baygon pesticide bottle and a suicide note written in Marathi from the victim's flat, they said.
The scene in his house also suggested that Vaidya vomited after consuming the pesticide, police said adding that, "His nephew had gone out to attend to his work in the morning and nobody was at home, when he committed suicide."
