Mumbai:
A disaster was averted at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport in Mumbai by an alert Air Traffic Controller (ATC).
At about 1pm on Wednesday afternoon, Jet airways flight 9W 2403 from Mumbai to Goa was about to take off when an incoming Indigo flight was seen by the ATC in the approach path.
The ATC was quick to react and save the situation.
The airport officials say that the situation occurred because the Jet aircraft was slow to take-off.
Jet Airways released a statement on the incident.
"As instructed by ATC Jet Airways flight 9W 2403 from Mumbai to Goa conducted an abort takeoff uneventfully due to an incoming aircraft of another airline into Mumbai,'" the statement said..
"The Jet Airways flight has departed for Goa with all its 158 passengers and will land at 1653 hrs," it added.
