Mumbai: On the occasion of 54th Mahaparinirvan Din of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, a grand exhibition of literature is being conducted at Satyagraha College in Sector 19, Kharghar. The exhibition is scheduled to be held from December 4 to 8. In addition to displaying writings on Dr Ambedkar, the event will also comprise of issuing certificates to the contributors of this exhibition.
The school library in itself is equipped with over 400 writings on Dr Ambedkar. The exhibition is also seeking books from publishers, collectors and authors. "We want the followers of Dr Ambedkar to take active interest in his writings and movements. For this to occur, they ought to be aware of the vast contributions made by him as well as others in the field of literature.
I would be displaying books from my personal collection that people can refer and take inspiration from," Principal of the college, Dr G K Dongargaonkar said. A series of book on comparative study between the philosophies of Dr Ambedkar and other noted leaders will also be displayed for patrons to read and be enlightened.
"The idea is to promote the literary works on the Father of Indian Constitution. It will also instill a sense of curiosity among public to read and learn from his writings," Dongargaonkar added.
The college is also extending free bus service from 10 am to 6 pm for patrons to commute from Kharghar to the institution. The management aspires to gain maximum participation with the launch of free shuttle to the venue.
