Mumbai:
An autorickshaw driver and two of his accomplices were arrested on Monday for allegedly abducting a 25-year-old lady commuter and taking her to an isolated place before snatching cash and valuables from her at knifepoint.
The police have identified the accused as Khalid Sheikh, 27. Mohammed Latif, 22, and Rizwan Quereshi, 20, are the other accused.
Officials said the incident happened last month when Pushpa Mulya boarded an autorickshaw from Seven Bungalows.
The trio then took her at knifepoint to Chembur. "After halting at an isolated place, they looted her," said a police officer. The Chembur, Andheri, Versova and Oshiwara police stations refused to register her complaint. Finally, it was registered by the Amboli police station.
