Mumbai:
A manager of a prominent bank allegedly committed suicide on Wednesday by throwing himself before a running train.
According to the police, 56-year-old Vilas Narsale took a train ticket for Churchgate from Mira road station at around 11 am. Instead of boarding the train, he jumped in front of a running train near the station, the police say.
Mr Narsale was rushed to a local hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Mr Narsale was the manager at the Mira Road division of the UCO bank. He had reportedly granted loans to some companies that were registered under fake addresses, leading to a loss of around Rs. 4 crores for the bank. Police suspect he took the step fearing possible action against him by the bank.
