Mumbai:
A case was registered today against a suburban homemaker for allegedly subjecting her 18-year-old maid from Jharkhand to torture, police said.
The girl was found unconscious, apparently after she was driven out of the flat by her employer on Friday night, in a building at Bhakti Park in suburban Wadala, they said.
Police reached the spot after they received a call that a teenage girl was lying unconscious and got her admitted to a hospital.
The victim, a native of Jharkand, was attached to a house keeping agency for past some years and had joined Aarti Bhagla's house only 12 days ago.
Bhagla allegedly used to make her do house chores without giving her any rest or proper food.
The girl told police that whenever she would ask for food, Bhagla would abuse and assault her.
Bhagla is yet to be arrested as investigation is in progress, police said.
