Mumbai:
A 50-year-old man was arrested from a Mumbai pub after he molested a woman and fired at the manager inside the premises. NDTV has accessed the CCTV footage of the incident which took place on May 29 in Andheri where the accused, Vikram Kallodi, a jeweller by profession, is seen misbehaving with a woman.
The footage clearly shows the assailant misbehaving with the woman after she protested his attempts to peek into her phone. The staff immediately intervened and took him to their manager Jitendra Jha who urged him to apologise. Instead the accused shot him in the leg. The footage also shows an employee trying to remove the gun from the assailant's hand.
The police say that the accused arrived at escape pub around midnight. A case of attempt of murder and outraging the modesty of a woman has been registered against him at the Amboli police station.
Senior police inspector of Amboli police station, Prabhakar Medhe told reporters, "The gun was tucked near the knee so there is a possibility that it went unnoticed by the security guards. The patrons are frisked before being allowed inside the pub. We are probing if there were any lapses on the part of the security guard in checking or did they knowingly allow the accused to carry the gun inside the pub as he was regular at the pub."
"The CCTV footage clearly shows that the accused was trying to hold the hands of the woman and therefore we have also charged him with molestation," added Mr Medhe.
