The Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari (VRVK) have constituted a 15-member concept committee to chalk out a detailed programme for an year-long celebration to mark Swami Vivekananda's 150th birth anniversary.
Titled 'Swami Vivekananda Sardha Shati Samaroha', the event is been seen by the VRVK as a great opportunity to spread Swami Vivekananda's message to people across the world.
The theme of the celebration has been titled as "Wake up Bharat! Enlighten the World".
"Important social leaders, thinkers, spiritual leaders and admirers of Swamiji's thoughts along with experienced volunteers of many social organisations will participate in the year-long celebration from January 12, 2013 to January 12, 2014," Abhay Bapat, convenor of the anniversary celebrations told reporters.
