Mumbai: As we enter the death overs of Indian Premier League (IPL), season 5, one controversy after another is raising its ugly head. In the latest, Mumbai police reportedly detained two Pune Warriors India (PWI) players while busting a rave party in a late-night raid yesterday. One of the cricketers is of South African origin, while the other is an Indian.
Several celebrities and models were also among the 56 men and 38 women held, who have been taken to hospitals for blood test. Cops have also found 110 gm of cocaine, ecstasy tablets and charas.
The raid at the poolside revelry on the terrace of Oakwood Hotel was led by additional commissioner of police (west region) Vishwas Nangre-Patil, following a tip-off. As per the information received a team of cops swept the hotel premises at around 7.30 pm.
"The last bus carrying players left the team hotel in Pune for Mumbai at 12 noon. Once we drop off the players, our responsibility ends. We don't know what happens after that," a PWI team management member told MiD DAY.
