Mumbai: An eighteen-year-old SYJC student of Smt Ramkali Sanmansingh Vidyamandir and Junior College of Commerce in Bhandup stabbed three of his colleagues while they were allegedly staged an attack on him yesterday. Cops said the accused, who is the monitor of his class, had anticipated that trio were preparing to assault him as he had complained against them to his professor.
"The accused Premchand Yadav is the classmate of Raviraj Shere, Rahul Singh and Naveen Shukla who have been stabbed. In the past, Yadav had complained about Singh and Shukla to his professor for not maintaining discipline in the class," said Shrirang Nadgauda, senior inspector of Bhandup police station.
Police said Yadav and the victims had had altercations in the classroom. During these, the accused had sensed the trio were planning to thrash him and had started carrying a knife with him. Around 7.30 am on Wednesday, when Yadav reached near the school, Shukla approached him and started an argument. Later Shere and Singh also joined them and eventually started beating up the accused.
In a fit of anger, Yadav took out the knife and tried threatening the trio. When the victims kept assaulting him he stabbed them. College authorities informed the police, who arrested Yadav under section 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) of IPC
"All three are admitted to Mulund General Hospital and are recuperating. Shukla and Shere have got deep injuries on their arm and would be discharged soon, while Singh has some wounds on his neck and would remain under medical supervision for some more time," said Nadgauda.
