Mumbai:
A trader's office was burgled of diamonds worth around Rs 2 crore at Opera House area in south Mumbai, police said.
The burglars apparently used duplicate keys to enter the office of 'Maa Kripa Enterprises', located on the fifth floor of Modi Chambers near Panch Ratna building, and used a gas cutter to open the safe where the diamonds were kept, a police inspector said.
DB Marg police said the heist took place when the office was shut on the weekend and it came to light today morning when diamond trader Dhawal Shah noticed that the main door was open and that the safe was mangled.
"The burglars, likely to be more than one, used a duplicate set of keys to gain entry to the office and later used a gas cutter to break the safe from which the diamonds are missing. The accused also smacked the CCTV camera after entering the office," the inspector said.
The office was closed on Saturday at around 9 PM by Shah, police said, adding they were informed about the incident this morning.
