Mumbai:
A 26-year-old history-sheeter was on Monday stabbed to death by four unidentified bike-borne persons in a broad daylight here, police said.
The police suspect the killing of Anil Naresh Amkar may be a fallout of enmity between two groups in Pratiksha Nagar area of Wadala Truck Terminus Wadala TT, central Mumbai.
Amkar had three police cases, including a murder, registered against him at the Wadala TT police station.
At around 12.15 pm, Amkar was going on a Hero Honda Karizma bike, when four unidentified men on two motorcycles attacked him from behind near Lotus Co-Op Housing Society at Pratiksha Nagar, some distance away from his residence.
They stabbed Amkar several times in the stomach and fled. Locals rushed a profusely bleeding Amkar to the Sion hospital where he was declared dead on arrival, police said.
"We suspect the involvement of a local group that had some past enmity with Amkar. No arrests have been made in the case so far," said V B Bhosale, Senior Inspector of Wadala TT police station.
