Mumbai: The husband of a woman constable was arrested today for allegedly murdering his 43-year-old wife, whose body was found from their residence, police said.
Body of Mumbai Police constable Smita Nandiwadekar was found yesterday from her residence with her throat slit with some sharp edged weapon.
Earlier, the police had said that constable Nandiwadekar, who was with the Special Branch, had committed suicide by slitting her throat.
"However, after investigation, police found out that her husband murdered her following a spat over financial problems," said DCP (Detection) Dhananjay Kulkarni.
