Vidhie, Indrani Mukerjea's daughter with her former husband Sanjeev Khanna, had warned Sheena Bora in a text message that she had heard her mother saying she wanted someone "out of the way", a chargesheet filed by the CBI has said.
The chargesheet was filed by the CBI on Thursday against Indrani, Mr Khanna and her former driver Shyamvar Rai for the April 2012 murder of Sheena, her daughter from an earlier marriage. Indrani's husband Peter Mukerjea, a media tycoon, was arrested by the CBI yesterday.
The chargesheet says Vidhie had sent a text message to Sheena, saying she and her boyfriend Rahul -- Peter Mukerjea's son -- should be careful. She also requested Sheena not to tell Indrani about this
conversation.
"Umm Sheena it should stay between us 2 only...u and Rahul should be careful cos Mama is getting 'worried' about u 2 so I'am just warning you guys...anything might come across...pls don't say anything because I will be actually be dead...if not dead Mama do something sooooo bad...trust me I really need your consent this...Mama says...she does not break up the relationship she wants to get someone out of the way.... Please reply back XXX."(Sic)," the message read.
The chargesheet also claimed that fear of Sheena inheriting the entire property in the event of her marriage to Rahul was the main motive behind the murder.
The investigating agency is also probing allegations that a financial dispute was at the heart of the case, especially a transaction that involved Rs. 1,300 crore.
In 2010, the CBI says, Indrani sold off a South Delhi apartment she had gifted her daughter after learning of her affair with Rahul.
Indrani sold the flat at Rs. 1.10 crore to "pressure her to call off the relationship", the charge-sheet alleges.
