Mumbai:
A 26-year-old woman police constable sustained grievous injuries today after she was allegedly stabbed by her husband in suburban Kandivli, a senior police official said.
Constable Sangita Surve, attached to Andheri police station, had married Pritam in 2015, but currently they were not on good terms and living separately.
Pritam wanted her to return and visited her house at Charkop in Kandivli to discuss the matter, the official said.
A heated argument broke out between the two and Pritam stabbed Sangita with a knife several times, the official said.
Sangita was admitted to a hospital and her condition was stated to be critical.
Charkop police have arrested Pritam for murder. Further investigation is underway.
