Mumbai: Three Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officers have been suspended in connection with Altaf Mansion collapse in Mahim. A portion of the building collapsed on June 10 killing ten people.
Chandrakant Shende, Assistant. Engineer, Digambar Satam, Sub-Engineer, and Pravin Rane, Junior Engineer have been suspended. An inquiry has also been ordered against two other officers.
Advocate Rizwan Merchant, who lost three members of the family, had written to the BMC ward office about illegal alterations.
A case has been registered at the Mahim police station against the owners of the building and the furniture showroom on the ground floor.
