A man was arrested today for allegedly assaulting a policewoman at Charkop police station in suburban Kandivali.
The accused was identified as Santosh Kamble (35). According to police, Kamble's mother-in-law visited the police station this morning to lodge a complaint that he assaulted her and molested her daughter-in-law.
Kamble, who also arrived there, created a ruckus and got into a scuffle with his mother-in-law.
When a policewoman tried to separate them, Kamble allegedly hit her.
He was arrested under IPC sections 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty) of IPC.
Police also registered another case against him on his mother-in-law's complaint.
