Mumbai:
A 33-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his younger brother in Ghatkopar area of the eastern suburbs, police said on Friday.
The incident took place at Bhimnagar near Sarvodaya Hospital in Ghatkopar (W) around 10.20 pm on Thursday and the victim was identified as Rupesh Mayekar, they said.
"It was a fallout of a fight between the two brothers. The victim was hit with a bamboo stick twice and there were grievous injuries on his head and face," a police official said.
After the incident, the victim kept laying in a pool of blood for almost an hour and succumbed to his injuries, police said
The elder brother of the deceased filed a police complaint in this regard. A case has been registered under section 302 (murder) of IPC at Ghatkopar Police Station. The accused is yet to be traced, police said.
