Mumbai:
A panipuri vendor, who was missing since Saturday, was found decapitated in a field near Balewadi village on Sunday afternoon. Police claimed that the murder was a fall out due to a monetary dispute.
Cops have recovered the knife that was used by the suspect to cut off the head from the body, and have launched a manhunt to trace him.
The deceased has been identified as Arvind Kushwaha, a resident of Dhankude vasti in Baner, and was a native of Madhya Pradesh. "We received information from the local police patil of the village of a decapitated man near Balewadi village, and we immediately reached the spot. With the help of a PAN card and mobile phone found on the person, we identified the victim," said police inspector Ajay Kadam of Chatushringi police station.
Soon after, Kushwaha's nephew Nilesh Kushwaha (17) lodged a complaint in this regard, accusing Raibahadur, a resident of Mangalwar Peth, for the murder.
Both Kushwaha and Raibahadur hailed from the same State, and were residing in Pune for the last one-year, said police.
According to the police, that deceased had loaned Raibahdur Rs 12,000 and the latter was not returning it back. On Saturday morning, Raibahadur came to Kushwaha's house and asked him to accompany him outside. Kushwaha did not return to home that night his panic-stricken wife informed Nilesh.
As per the complainant, Nilesh stated that that he had telephoned Raibahadur, but he replied that he had no idea of the whereabouts of Kushwaha. "Nilesh even went to Raibahadur's house, but his house was locked.
In the meantime we recovered the body of Kushwaha from the field," said Kadam. Police Inspector (Crime) Subhash Nikam, said, "We launched a manhunt to trace Raibahadur. When our team reached his house, the neighbours informed them that the family had left the house on Saturday night."
