Mumbai: A women's Marathi literature conference will be held at sector 6 in Vashi on December 22 from 10 am till 6 pm. Three talented women from diverse fields namely Dr Arundathi Joshi, Sandhya Kausdikar and Vaishali Magdoom have taken up the responsibility to organise this conference along with Marathi Sahitya Sanskriti and Kala Mandal.
Vrushali Magdoom, secretary of the committee said, "The programme will start with an inaugural session wherein we will be discussing about all those women who have actively been involved in writing Marathi literature. Women have a lot of knowledge and ability in them and if given a chance, they can actually prove themselves very efficiently. At this conference we plan to discuss and talk about a lot of issues that will be highly beneficial to both the women's community in large and the society also. Besides, our motto is also to examine and talk about Marathi literature in great detail. We are really keen that as many women as possible from Navi Mumbai should be a part of this meet. We have kept the meet open to both women as well as men."
Well-known writers like Mangala Aatlyakar, Monica Gajendragadkar, Mangala Godbole and Neela Satyanarayan are expected to be a part of this meet. Besides, post-lunch Amruta Subhash a famous television actor would be coming to talk about issues on portrayal of women on television. Another interesting aspect of the conference is that a poetry recitation of women that will be held wherein five best poems will be read out. Their main aim here is to involve local women into this conference so that they are more acquainted with Marathi literature.
