At least 15 shops and houses were damaged in a massive fire that broke out in Mumbai early this morning. The fire erupted around 4 am in Govandi's Baiganwadi. No injuries have been reported so far.
Around 15 galas (commercial units) on the ground floor and some houses on the first floor were damaged in the fire, the official said.
The residents were also seen putting out the fire with buckets of water.
The fire engulfed electric wiring and installation, household items, AC sheets, plastic sheets, LPG cylinders, wooden planks, and furniture.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
Earlier on Friday, more than 20 two-wheelers were damaged in a fire that broke out in an open parking lot in suburban Borivali.
