Mumbai: Bollywood Actor and model Poonam Pandey was detained late on Friday night at Mira Road in suburban Mumbai for allegedly behaving indecently in public.
According to a police officer concerned with the case, the police had received a complaint that two people were indulging in an indecent act in public.
When a police team reached the area they found Poonam Pandey there and brought her to the police station. She was released after a warning.
She was booked under Sections 110 (behaving indecently in public) and 117 of Maharashtra Police Act. "I was not arrested. I was listening to music in my car. The police told me they had a problem with my clothes and they took me to the police station. After two or three minutes they allowed me to go. Maybe they booked me for indecent behaviour for listening to music," she told NDTV.
Ms Pandey had hit headlines during the 2011 Cricket World Cup, when she had declared that she would strip if the Indian team won the trophy.
She was last seen in the Bollywood film Nasha which had faced protests over the explicit skin show in its posters.
