Mumbai:
A six months old girl and her mother died after a tree collapsed on them near Vidhan Bhavan (state legislature) in south Mumbai.
According to the civic authorities, the tree collapsed near Inox theatre at 8.40 pm.
The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Manisha Bansali and her daughter Aarti (six months).
Both were immediately rushed to the nearby G T Hospital, but were declared dead on arrival, officials said.
At least five Honda City cars that were parked near the theatre were also damaged in the crash.
Mumbai and coastal region of state have been receiving heavy rain in the last few days.
