Mumbai: A large fire that broke out in an office building in south Mumbai has been put out. An eyewitness said the fire broke out in the Narcotics Control Bureau's office on the third floor of the Exchange Building at Ballard Pier.
According to fire officials, the building was evacuated and no one was trapped inside when the fire broke out. The building houses several government offices. (First pics)
"We could smell something burning. We shut down our devices, picked up our belongings and ran down. It (the fire) seems to be under control now. Operations have been going on for one-and-a-half hours," said JK Chatterjee, an eyewitness.
Eight fire engines and 10 water tankers are at the location.
