Mumbai:
It was business as usual at Samudra restaurant on December 2. At night, after tallying the accounts the manager locked the establishment and went home.
At around 4.30 am on December 3, four persons arrived at the bar on two motorbikes. For the first fifteen minutes, they studied the area. After confirming that no one was watching them, they broke open the bar's shutter. Two persons entered the bar, opened the drawers of the counter and robbed cash amounting to Rs35,000.
The men were content and thought that their presence at the crime scene would never be known and their identity would remain a secret forever. CCTV footage documented their actions, now the police have launched a manhunt for them.
Later the matter came to light when in the morning, three employees of the bar and security guard woke up and found the shutter broken. "This theft took place despite three workers sleeping inside the bar and the watchman asleep near the main shutter. Their daring bid and fearless movement suggest that they are seasoned criminals. We may even have a record of them," said Vilas Chalke, sub inspector from Wagle Estate police station. Police have started investigation based on CCTV footage.
