Mumbai lift collapse: Death toll rises to six, building director arrested

Mumbai: The death toll in the Mumbai service lift collapse incident has risen to six.

The temporary lift, set up for construction purpose at Rustumji building in suburban Matunga, had collapsed at around 9.30 am on Sunday morning.

Ketan Shah, the director of Rustomjee Towers, who was absconding, has been arrested by the police in connection with the lift collapse.

Shah remanded to police custody till January 13.

Four labourers were killed and one was seriously injured on Sunday when the temporary lift collapsed at the under-construction building.
