Mumbai:
A 27-year-old man today allegedly committed suicide by setting himself on fire at his residence in suburban Kurla, police said on Sunday.
According to the police, Gurunath Mahadik, a resident of Sneha Sadan Co-operative society in Kurla, doused himself with kerosene and immolated self on Sunday afternoon when he was alone at home.
Mahadik, who sustained 100 per cent burn injuries, was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to injuries before admission, police said.
The reason for the suicide is not yet clear, police said, adding that further probe was on.
