Mumbai: Mega property exhibition commences from today

Mumbai: The much awaited property exhibition by the Builders Association of Navi Mumbai (BANM) will kick off today at sector 13, along the Palm Beach Road, Sanpada.

The four-day event will be inaugurated in the presence of Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Vilasrao Deshmukh, at around 10.30 am. The guest of honour for the function will be Maharashtra Excise and Non-Conventional Energy Minister Ganesh Naik. Thane MP Sanjeev Naik, MLA Sandeep Naik, Mayor Sagar Naik, CIDCO Chairman Nakul Patil and Joint Managing Director (MD) of the planning agency Tanaji Satre, will also be present on the occasion.

The organizers are expecting over three lakh visitors, this year. "We are expecting large number of visitors this time. We are getting a fantastic response in the form of enquiries.

Celebrities and elite class from south Mumbai are also showing keen interest in properties in the satellite city. Enquires are more for properties along Palm Beach Road and for commercial properties.

Seeing the interest of buyers, we will also be displaying commercial properties," said Bhupendra Shah, President of BANM and MD and Chairman of Bhumiraj Group.

As many as 110 real estate developers will be showcasing their projects in the exhibition. Compared to last year, the number of pavilions has been increased. Rather, the demand for pavilions was more, but due to the lack of space only nine could be constructed.

The increase in projects will also give immense choice to the buyers. Lot of affordable housing projects will be available around Kharghar, Kamothe and Ulwe. The exhibition is likely to cater to buyers' of all categories. The properties on display are in a price range of Rs 20 lakh to Rs 3 crore. Considering the various upcoming infrastructure projects in city, the builders are constructing houses to cater to all the economic classes of society during the period of next few years.

"After the announcement of airport, the population of Navi Mumbai is expected to increase. Most of the action is expected to be seen in Panvel and the area in its periphery as airport construction will impact infrastructural development of this area in a big way," said Ashok Chhajer, MD Arihant Superstructure Ltd.

He added, "In due course of time, large number people will shift to the satellite city and to accommodate them equal number of houses will also be required. Considering the above aspects, Arihant will start construction of 4000 houses in 2011, which will be ready by 2015-16."
12,000 sq ft of luxury living!

In addition, to residential towers, Armstrong Group will be also constructing schools, hospitals, sports arena, entertainment centres in the new phase of Hex World and Hex City. "In the new phase, we are constructing entire townships which will comprise five star and three star hotels, hospitals, schools, education institutes. It's our effort to ensure that people in our residential complex don't have to go anywhere else," Raju Kanchwala, MD Armstrong Group, said.
